It’s my first summer in San Francisco and getting used to the sun being out until 9pm in June is a little strange for this little Aussie.
I’m one of those people that leaves event dressing until the last minute. Like, the day before a wedding/ball/engagement party etc I will do what my partner calls a ‘smash and grab’.
So I’m kind of obsessed with this hat. Especially paired with this vintage, embroidered denim dress, it’s all very backyard boho.
You didn’t think I was going to complete the Restyle challenge without featuring some stripes did you?
I was so happy I found this sexy little black dress to represent today’s Bow prompt. When I think of bow, for some reason I think girly which isn’t really me. But this dress proved me wrong in all the right ways!
This dress was my most expensive buy during Restyle but the prompt is Opshop Love so I figured it was worth it. The beautiful navy blue Bianca Spender dress drapes so perfectly across the body and there was something about the muted hue that made me want to pair it with a bright lip.
Uncomplicated dressing like this is really what I strive for. A statement piece that you can work your shoes, bag and accessories (or lack thereof) around.
Dress: RSPCA Palmyra, $30
Lips: Nars Schiap
This is probably one of my most favourite opshop finds. It still had the original tags on, was only $12.50 and if I ever have a wedding it’s pretty close to what I’ll be dressed in.
Dress: RSPCA Palmyra, $12.50
Belt: RSPCA Palmyra, $3.00
Shoes: Country Road
Flower crown: Sportsgirl
Oh. Umm. Uhhh. Ohhh. Polka dots huh? Yeah sorry, not really my thing. WELL GUESS WHAT YOUNG LADY? YOU DON’T HAVE A CHOICE!
That’s what went through my head when I walked into the RSPCA in Palmyra with my very well worn Restyle list of prompts. And so I picked this polka dot dress up, and I put it down and then I picked it up again and then I tucked it under my arm and told myself, you can make this work. And I did, by throwing a trusty black knit over the top and pairing with some Cons. I felt very skater chic.
Dress: RSPCA Palmyra $10
Sick of seeing me in stripes yet? How about the colour black? People that say black isn’t a colour shouldn’t be trusted.
I’m slowly killing this Camilla & Marc knit, I fear it’s not going to last me through Winter. Come to think of it these boots have seen better days too. If I could be an eternal summer chaser I would. I don’t like being cold and I’m not very good at trying to combat it with layers and coats and boots like most people do.
Maybe I’ll spend most of this winter peering out over the balcony, looking for the sun.
