Sometimes when I really sit back and think about fashion blogging I realise how strange of a concept it is.
Mondays are wretched things. Especially when last Monday you were strolling through the autumn Melbourne air, ducking into cafes to avoid the rain and planning your to do list around the next meal.
Winter is coming.
Nothing says summer is coming like an exposed toe. Yet I’m still forced to team them with a warming pair of jeans thanks to this schizophrenic weather. These Birkenstock-esque Harriet Sandals from Country Road are keeping my eye on the prize though and I’ll pull them out every time I want to get a little closer to summer.
What a naughty blogger I’ve been. Sorry for the lack of posts kids, but there has been lots going on! I know, I know… excuses, excuses. But there has been a few things occupying my time of late, including finding myself a brand, spanking new job! Yes, I’m moving to the dark side, leaving the comforts of advertising agencies to head into a client side marketing role and I can’t wait!
New in over the last couple of weeks and they’ve already become wardrobe staples – Country Road Anneka Print Slipper and Current Elliott Stiletto jeans.

Squuuuuuuueeeeeeee how freaking cool is this cape?!
Most of the prompts for the Restyle Photo A Day challenge are subjective enough for you to be able to work them back into your own wardrobe, but I was quite anxious about the statement prompt. As you can probably tell, my style revolves around muted and dark tones in simple well cut shapes, so my version of #statement could very well be your version of yawnsville. But when I saw this Little-Red-Riding-Hood-cape it screamed WOW to me.
Cape: RSPCA Palmyra, $7
Dress: Country Road
Here’s two things I’ve realised while looking at these photos;
1. I don’t wear accessories
2. I almost always have a hair tie around my wrist.
And once again, it’s black on black on black for lunch today at the oldest pub in Perth. Maybe I can distract myself from this awful season we call Winter by actually playing around with some accessorising.
A black blazer is an absolute essential in any wardrobe and I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without a decent one. I wore it last night to drinks with friends at the new Stables Bar and it was the perfect light weight cover up for a mild autumn night. And I still can’t get enough of stripes at the moment, it’s becoming a bit of a shopping obsession!
10 points if you can spot the rip I put in these Country Road pumps the first time I wore them. Pro tip: The Shoe Man in Victoria Park is an expert at shoe repairs.
