Basil Pesto

On Sunday I got to spend the day with ten gorgeous, creative and inspirational Perth ladies at the Food Styling and Photography Workshop run by superstars Peggy Saas and Bec Tougas.

Peggy showed us all how to move off the dreaded auto setting on our cameras and start to take charge of that scary and sometimes overwhelming manual mode. And let me tell you, a couple of hours with Peggy and you’ll be feeling like you can throw in your day job and start a career as a pro photographer.

We then got a food styling demo by Bec. I think we all stood around with our jaws open, simply amazed at the eye that Bec has for creating the most beautiful scenes.

We played with Bec’s props, styled our own Littlesweet Baking treats and generally had a fabulous time at The Mantle in Fremantle.

If you ever wanted to really take charge of your camera and you have the slightest interest in food photography and styling I highly recommend you attend the next workshop.

I made some pesto this evening with homegrown basil and Peggy & Bec’s tips have already proved invaluable!
