Sometimes when I really sit back and think about fashion blogging I realise how strange of a concept it is.
Trapsing around the city with a photographer telling you to contort your body, your head, your face every which way. Creating elaborate outfit combos and the pressure to have new season items – it can be intimidating at times. The particular Tuesday that we shot this outfit I wasn’t feeling at the forefront of anything let alone fashion.
But then I have those days where I remember that I don’t need to be constantly breaking the bank or following trends to keep up with the next blogger. Sometimes its ok to pull out the old favourites. Like this leather clutch that I was given for my 21st birthday. It’s the only black clutch that I own and I love that it’s worn out around the edges.
These boots are a few years old too. I just took them to the boot maker, they still have a lot of life left in them. In fact, nothing I’m wearing in this outfit is current season and that’s ok. When we reach into the depths of our wardrobes and pull out old faithful we’re slipping into comfort, into familiarity. Not everything needs to be shiny and new.
